Pro bono
A deep commitment to pro bono work has been Foley Hoag LLP's hallmark since we successfully represented the plaintiffs in Boston's seminal landmark school desegregation case. Then and now, we believe that freely sharing our talents with individuals and the community makes us better lawyers, better people, and a better firm.
In a typical year, we handle approximately 100 matters and contribute approximately 24,000 hours to our pro bono program, accounting for more than five percent of the work of the firm. We also serve the community in other ways, including board involvement and charitable organizations.
Summer Associate Program
It's true what they say: Summer Associate is the best job ever. We want our Summer Associates to have a rewarding and eye-opening experience, and we devote substantial energy to building a program that will allow you to experience all aspects of life at Foley Hoag.
As a Summer Associate you'll have the opportunity to choose your own assignments, experiencing as many or as few practice areas as you'd like. You'll work on real matters for real clients. You'll participate in team strategy meetings, go to court, assist at a closing. You'll get priceless on-the-job training, advice, and feedback from seasoned Partners and Associates, and take part in seminars aimed at transforming your law school knowledge into real world skills. And, as you might expect, there will be plenty of social outings to allow you to meet the firm's lawyers.
